Diagram Content

The Planning of Projects consists of two levels:

  • The project task line of the first level are required, otherwise no bookings for the project are made.
  • The second level consists of planning lines, which determine the detailed use of resources, articles and so on.

You use this project lines to list the expectations of the project. It may be a plan (which articles, resources and so on are expected to be used) or a contract (agreement with the debtor about what he hast to pay for the project).

You can design lines for each sub-activity of the project. If you have agreed with the customer to charge a total amount for the whole project (regardless of consumption for each sub-project activities), you only need to create a single line of type “contract” for the whole project.

This includes notably the establishment of project organization, the written fixation of a project contract, the disposition of the whole project into separate time periods, the determination of the project tasks and their time scheduling and planning of the necessary resources and the anticipated costs. The services provided, the costs and time consumptions have to be monitored constantly. In the case of deviations it is necessary to take appropriate actions. The module projects in Microsoft Dynamics NAV 5.0 offers various options for displaying statistics for project control. Some statistics are in the form of windows, and other statistics are reports. In one of the reports the user has the ability to change the content.
